I can't believe this day has arrived and Sophia is now old enough to go to school. What a bitter sweet feeling! I wasn't sure who was going to have more anxiety, Sophia or me, clearly it wasn't Sophia. She did awesome! Not one whimper. People have asked if I was upset or sad but how could I be. She was so excited when we got to her classroom and she was having a great time playing outside when I arrived to pick her up, I couldn't help but just be overjoyed!

Open House
Sophia went to her preschool open house this morning. She got to meet her teachers, Miss Angela and Miss Jennifer, and take a look at her classroom before her first day on Monday. You would have thought she's been going to school forever. She just strolled right in and made herself at home. She was so proud of her new bag too, she even wanted to carry it herself. I guess this means she's ready. Let's hope it's this easy on Monday!

Bye Bye Summer
Well summer is officially over in the Micca household : ( Sophia starts preschool on Monday, but before we got into our new routine, Paula and Jack, Erica and Miller, Allyson and Ansley, Kathryn and Ryland, Sara and Riley, and Jessica and Trent all came over for one last summer shindig. I wasn't able to get any pics of everyone by the pool but here are some of the kids playing before everyone headed home for a much needed afternoon nap.

Fun with Didi
This is how our trip to Dallas started. Didi was watering the plants when we arrived from the airport (an hour late and an hour pass Sophia's bed time I must add). Sophia has never played in the sprinklers or anything like that since we've been on watering restrictions for over a year now. So as you can see, what started out as a little curiosity very quickly turned into some wet fun with the hose.
