A's Test Out!

Alexandra finished ISR this week! It took 4 weeks of lessons, plus one week of me in the pool with her and testing. For a total of 5 weeks. That's half the time it took Sophia. She did a fantastic job! Now she's 100% ready for our summer kick off beach trip!

Winter clothes test out!

Tuck the Turtle

Saturday afternoon Duke wouldn't stop barking so Joe went outside to see what all the commotion was about. What he found was a poor helpless turtle.

Of course we had to bring him in to meet the girls.
Sophia quickly named him Tuck, after the turtle on Wonder Pets.

Sophia then decided Tuck had to have some celery just like on the show.

The girls cautiously encouraging Tuck to come out of his shell.

Sophia's interpretation of Tuck "stretching his long neck"

Still encouraging him, she thought he might be happier eating out of a bowl than off the ground

The girls enjoyed giving Tuck a bath

Bye bye Tuck ... come back to visit soon

Oh, don't forget your dinner : )

Already floating!!!!!

Alexandra started her ISR swimming lessons this week and she's already floating. Yeah!!!!
I can't tell you how thrilled we are. Remember it took Sophia 10 weeks to float, she was a very strong swimmer from the beginning and refused to float but Alexandra is quite the opposite. She took up floating right away which is important because that is what will save them if something was ever to happen. Now we have to see if she'll swim too.

On her tummy ...

rolling herself over to float ...

FLOATING!!!!!

SOOOOOO behind!

Every couple of months I get really behind on blogging ... sorry ... but this time I have a good excuse ... well kind of ...

Let me fill you in and then I'll go back and post some more recent events.

Spring Break Playdate

No school, no activities, no travel plans ... what are we to do?

A playdate at The Heilmans!

Sophia could not get enough of Patterson's silly "ugly face" during dessert.

How did we get four 3 year olds and two 1 year olds to sit still ... cookies!
If only it had lasted a little longer : )

Watching the squirrels and birds in the backyard.

Jessie and Alexandra cooking up some lunch.

Enjoying lunch on the go ...

Thanks Donna, Patterson, and Jessie for having us over!

Happy Easter!

Easter was filled with two egg hunts (indoor & out), Easter baskets and dinner at our neighbors were the kids enjoyed more Easter fun and we celebrated the true meaning of Easter!

Happy Easter!!!!

Sophia insisted she use her lady bug basket to pick up the Easter eggs leading downstairs to their Easter baskets. It was really pretty sweet she'd point to the eggs and let Alexandra drop them in the basket. What a sweet big sister!

Enjoying their Easter treats!

My Easter treat : )

Daddy's turn!

The "Big Girls" waiting for dinner. The boys were all sitting at the breakfast table a few feet away. Sophia kept referring to them as "her brothers" and would correct me if I called them "the boys." Little does she know she'll soon have a real brother of her very own : )
