Texas Size Thanksgiving

We headed to Texas for a weeks long celebration which included: the arrival of our newest family member, Jon Anthony, Alexandra & Juliet's birthday, Christmas and oh yeah, Thanksgiving.  While there we also got a visit from Papi and sent some time with our good friends The Shegons.  It was a busy trip but full of fun and great memories.  Here's a snap shot of our Texas size Thanksgiving!

Jon Anthony is such as sweet baby.  At barely 2 weeks, this is one of the few times he was actually awake.  So we were excited to snap this picture of him and Abu with his eyes open.

Juliet spent a good bit of time at Abu's during our visit.  So to take advantage of having all the grandkids together we went on a few fieldtrips.  First stop, Fort Worth Zoo!

Posing before the train ride.  Can you guess who's request?

Maybe they bonded on the lighter hair or possibly their size, but these two were so cute together!

I always think it's so cute to capture them from behind.

Can't pass up a ride on the komodo dragon.  Reminds us of the Atlanta zoo!

Matt, Will, Caroline, Sophia, Alexandra, Lucas and Ben!  We love you Shegon Family!

Lots of hugs and kisses when Papi arrived from Houston!

Girls couldn't wait to start playing around!

Four little monkeys
Papi didn't seem to mind that Lucas was all about watching the construction vehicles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXANDRA & JULIET!

Who wouldn't be excited about a flower cookie cake?!?!

And this wasn't even the real day.

Patiently waiting ....

Deciding who gets what flower.

Time for presents!

My Little Ponies for Alexandra and Princess goodies for Juliet!

No cars, No problem!  Lucas was happy enjoying his cookie.

 Not exactly a thankful face : (

After our yummy Thanksgiving meal.  The adults cleaned up while the kids prepared for Christmas.  Out came the cookies, decorations and tree!

Jolly Uncle Glenn showing off one of his Christmas gifts.

Sophia was thrilled to receive her American Girl Doll!

Alexandra was happy too : )

Turkey Feast

I was able to go in and help Sophia's class get ready for their school Thanksgiving Feast.  To prepare,  each student made their own Thanksgiving attire; consisting of, turkey crowns, necklaces, & Indian gowns.  As well as table decorations and desserts.

I am so thankful I was able to share in this school tradition with my oldest turkey!

Working on decorating her Indian garb with Native American symbols.
Turkey center piece for their feast!

Before heading over for some turkey the class sang a few turkey songs and  posed for some quick pictures : )  Click on this link to see one of their performances ... Turkey Song

Circus Time

Elsa, one of Sophia's school friends, celebrated her birthday at the Circus Arts Institute.   Sophia showed no signs of fear as she took a swing on the trapeeze!
Hulla Hooping tricks!  She was pretty good at this one!

More trapeze!  Looks like we might have a circus star in our future : )
Happy Birthday Elsa!

Maggie's Bowtique

Maggie celebrated her 3rd birthday with a oh so fun
Minnie Mouse theme!

Maggie's "clubhouse" was everything a Minnie fan could hope for!
It included a  "dress up bowtique," coloring station and the fan favorite a cookie decorating station.

There's no business like bow party business!  Look at this dessert table!  Perfect!

Of course no detail went unnoticed!  Super cute!

Happy Birthday Maggie!
It was threeific celebrating your birthday with you!

#1 Myster Reader

Sophia's teacher started having "Mystery Readers"  This is when one family member is invited to read some books to the class.  Joe was the first to sign up and couldn't wait to surprise his favorite kindergartner!

The surprise started off with the class facing Mrs. Gossage allowing Joe to sneek in.   She then told the class they would be having a visitor and asked the class who could tell them who they thought it might be.  Sophia says she was a bit confused but was one of the first to raise her hand when she saw 'Micca' written on the board.  As you can see she was more than excited to share her daddy with her friends.  What a great way to start off a fun friday!

Oh, and from what I hear Daddy did a FANTASTIC job!
And he's now "famous." : )  Great job daddy!

Maggie spent the morning with us and Lucas could not be happier!  He LOVES his MAGS!

And from the smile on her face, there's no doubt she loves her "Lukie!"

These two have the best time together not matter they're doing. Aren't they cute!?!?
