Abu & Tita

Abu and Tita came to visit this weekend and boy did Sophia get spoiled!  Though a visit from family is never long enough we all had a great time just relaxing and spending time together.  After all, the best entertainment of all is always simply watching Sophia.

S-O-P-H-I-A

She did it!  We've been working on it for about a month now and Sophia can officially spell her name.  Well ... not quite but almost.  Anytime she sees any kind of writing utensil, a crayon, side walk chalk, markers, a pen ... you name it, she hands it over and insists I write "S".  So of course, I write an S then she says "O" so I write an O and so on until we've spelled her name.  So does this count?  I mean, she knows what letter goes next and she doesn't have them memorized cause she recognizes them independently.  She actually recognizes all the letters in her name so well that anytime she sees any of them anywhere she yells them out and points.  I think this counts as spelling, don't you?

Something else she's been doing is imitating mommy's growing belly.  When you
ask her what mommy looks like she sticks her tummy way out.  I must say, it's pretty funny. I just wish I really looked that darn cute!

Got Milk?

Even more fun than the zoo ... a dairy farm!  Sophia and Jack had a wonderful time this weekend when we visited Cagle's Dairy Farm.  It was the perfect outing for our little animal lovers.  Sophia really enjoyed the whole tour which included a hayride, milking Miss Daisy, watching a Border Collie corral a heard of VERY pregnant lady cows, feeding a few goats, drinking chocolate milk from her very own miniature milk jug (mmmmmm), but her favorite part of all was ... feeding and petting the sweetest baby calves.  She thought it was just hilarious when they would stick out their long tongues and try to "kiss" her.  They did get pretty close a few times, but thank goodness they never did get her!

Busy Bee

Saturday started off with us meeting Hope and Pearce at the park.  After a few hours of playing together and learning how to share and take turns,  the girls (and mommies) were ready for some lunch and a long nap. We're so excited the Witters are moving close by.  We look forward to spending many Saturday mornings together : )  Then, after her nap, Sophia thought it was so much fun to climb into these old tires and drive daddy's pink car.  I guess Joe got his little helper!

Labor Day with The Janci's

Jack had never been to the zoo and Sophia LOVES going, so it only made perfect sense to go visit some furry friends with good friends on Labor Day!
