Standing in Savannah

Joe had a conference in Savannah so we turned it into our first long weekend getaway with the girls.  It actually went better than expected.  Alex slept most of the way there while Sophia spent the four hour car ride reading and singing songs.   Once we got to our room, Joe and I quickly unpacked while Sophia ran off some energy in the room. Alexandra's legs must have been tired too and needed a stretch.  She stood herself up for the first time. I guess this is what happens when you've been in the car for four hours and there's no bumper on the crib.

Georgia Aquarium

We did it!  We finally went to visit the largest aquarium in the world ... The Georgia Aquarium.  It's been open now for several years but every time we planned on going something came up and we just couldn't make it.  But today, there was nothing on the agenda and the forecast called for rain so we packed a lunch and headed to see the fishies.  

So why no pics?  It was hard enough taking these with Alex strapped to me in the baby bijorn and Sophia running around all over the place.  Maybe next time I'll be able to share some of what we saw : )

Watermelon

Lately Alexandra just has to have a taste of whatever it is we're eating.  As soon as she sees food she starts whimpering and reaching for a bite.  Here she is enjoying some watermelon for lunch.

Lady in Red

Alex had her six month pictures about a week ago.  Right as the photographer pulled out of our driveway, I saw the girls little red piano and thought to myself what a cute picture this would make.  Darn, I wish I had thought of it earlier!  So, as you can see, I really have no photography skills at all.  All I know how to do is push the button.  Oh well, maybe next time : (

Splish Splash

Sophia and Alex hosted their first pool playdate of the summer and boy did they have fun!  After some fun in the sun the kids enjoyed a quick picnic lunch and then back into the pool for some more splashing around.  I'm pretty sure everyone was ready for a nap after all that summer fun ... I know I was!

FINALLY ...

I know it's been a long time since I've updated the blog, so sorry.  We've been pretty busy the last few months with our usual activities plus ... Alexandra's baptism, Sophia's 2nd birthday, Easter, The Little People Show at the Zoo, Swimming lessons, first teeth, Tia's engament, summer camp,  birthday parties, starting solids, and my first trip to Texas with both girls and much much more... ugh ... it's been nutty.  Anyway, here's a few pics to get you up to date ("bunny bath" was posted in march) and hopefully I'll be able to stay on top of it again!
