Tickled Pink

We're all anxiously awaiting the arrival of sweet Juliet! My little sister's first baby! To help get her ready, friends and family all gathered to shower mommy & baby with love. Everything was of course pink but the theme was little girl clothes on a clothesline. From the invitation to the precious cake and cupcakes, everything was "tickled pink."

The yummy desserts (Carmen's Babycakes) were specially made from a client of my sisters who contacted me when she heard I was throwing her a shower. That just goes to show what a special person my sister is and how lucky little Juliet is to have her as her mom! We can't wait to meet our family's newest addition!

Here Comes the Bride

Tia got hitched!!!! Ok let me explain. We were planning on going to Dallas for Adriana's baby shower but, one week before our scheduled arrival, she decided she might as well get married too. After all, almost all the family would be in town anyway! (if you know my sister this really shouldn't surprise you ... she's pretty impulsive to say the least : ) So, after scrambling around for all the bare necessities ... florist, baker, minister, wedding bands, reception, photographer, music, etc ... oh yeah and a dress ...

We pulled it off. It was PERFECT! The bride and groom couldn't be happier and the rest of us are elated for them. I'll post some of the professional pics once I get them but enjoy these for now. Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Midkiff!!!! We LOVE you!!!!

End of Summer Cook Out

The Cibulas's had their annual end of summer BBQ. The kids all had fun playing on the swing set and in the sand box while the dad's enjoyed a game of boccie ball and the mom's tried to catch up on all the latest gossip. It was great seeing everyone together! Our kids are all growing up so quickly. It seems like just yesterday we had our first playdate with the kids just sitting or lying on blankets. Now they're up running around and some of us already have another little one to tend to. It's wonderful watching our little brood double and maybe even triple in size : )

Labor Day at The Barkers

We spent Labor Day in Charlotte visiting aunt Judy, Uncle Chip, and cousins Ryan, Kevin and Eric.

Back To School

Today was Sophia's first day back to preschool! She could not have been excited ... thank goodness! After meeting her teachers, Ms Inge and Ms. Paige, at the Open House on Friday, she was ready to start her new year in the 2 year old room.

Another reason she's been so enthusiastic about school this year is her best friend Jack C. He's in her class this year! There's nothing like seeing a familiar face : )

BTW ... she insisted on pictures "with the animals". Rather than smiling she wanted to make their sounds so that's why she looks a little funny : )

Papi's Visit

The girls had a great visit with Papi. Sophia showed off her swimming skills while Alexandra spent some time analyzing his moustache. Thanks for coming, we can't wait to see you again soon.

The Sugar Shack

We had our first family beach vacation this year at The Sugar Shack in florida.  The girls did awesome and Alexandra didn't even mind the sand too much.  Sophia really loved building sand castles and jumping the ocean waves.  Thanks Cibula and Heilman family for all the memories.  We can't wait until next year!
