Yippie ... #3!

We're thrilled to announce we're expecting another baby!
Baby Micca #3 is due August 5th and is a boy! Though this pregnancy was planned we were surprised and thrilled to know I'm 3 1/2 weeks further along than I thought. Overall I'm feeling pretty good though some days I get a rush of nausea and of course I'm ALWAYS tired ...
but what mom isn't : )

I must say though, I'm EXTREMELY nervous about having a little boy. I don't know anything about boys! I feel like I'm starting all over! But God sent us a boy and I can't wait to meet him soon ... not too soon ... there's too much to do : )

SNOW much fun!!!

Snow in Atlanta! Like most of the country we've had an uncommonly cold winter which has confused Sophia in a very funny way. Since so many of her books show Christmas scenes with snow she kept saying "Christmastime was back & santa was coming again ... so we had to put up a tree and lights." Luckily it didn't last too long so I only had to explain the difference a few 100 times : )

Posing with our neighbor Rachel

Alexandra didn't want to miss out on any of the fun!

Sophia making a snow angel.

Alexandra preferred watching after figuring out it was a little too cold & wet.

The beginning of a snowman. The kids were able to build one but they quickly pushed it over before I could get a picture : (

Welcome Juliet

Juliet was born on January 14 @ 4:14pm Dallas time weighing 8lbs 21 inches long. She is such a little angle! We spent almost two weeks visiting the newest member of the family and helping Tia with her precious baby girl.

Sophia and Alexandra both loved "helping" Tia with their new baby cousin. Alexandra would constantly point and squeal, while Sophia was fascinated by "her tiny nose and feet."

Bedtime with Papi

Papi came to visit. Both girls LOVED seeing their grandfather and Sophia couldn't stop talking about how Papi read her one of her new favorite books

Christmas!!!

Christmas was a little quite this year. With no family in town and no travel plans of our own, it was our first Christmas as a family. So as a family, we started new traditions: Elf on the Shelf, Christmas cookie and gingerbread house decorating and happy birthday Jesus. We also continued a combination of old traditions from mine and Joe's childhood.

It was wonderful to watch the girls get into the Christmas spirit. Joe and I had so much fun putting everything together and watching the girls reaction when they woke up Christmas morning. Here are a few pics from Christmas morning.

Santa brought the girls a bunch of dress up clothes. Here Sophia is a "princess fairy cowgirl"

The first gift Sophia opened was some books. Of course that's all she really needs to be happy! It took a few minutes but she finally agreed to continue opening presents and read her "new books" later. I think she was happy with her decision.
Santa brought the girls a doll house and kitchen!

Princesses for the doll house! Thanks Abu!

Alexandra was perfectly content with the boxes and wrapping paper.

Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!!!

Our neighbors had us over Christmas Eve to celebrate Jesus's Birthday. Of course Sophia is ALWAYS ready for a party. She loved singing happy birthday to Jesus and made sure we "saved him a piece of his cake, with LOTS of icing!"
