Halloween with my 3 little treats was so fun this year! We got into the season early putting up all our decorations the first week of October. The girls said they wanted a "spooky house" so we had 2 giant spiders (Itsy and Bitsy) and their webs, 3 "friendly ghosts" (Sophia, Alexandra & Lucas), hanging around our front door and about a dozen skeletons (all named Skelly) hanging from the maple tree in the front lawn. Along with "Scary" the "scarycrow" and his pumpkin "Pumpkinie" The only thing left to decide on were the costumes.

The girls both wanted to be princesses this year. Yeah! I know it's not about me, but princesses are so much more exciting to me than last years choice of costumes; Buzz and Woody. Anyway, Sophia wanted Sleeping Beauty and Alexandra chose Belle from Beauty and The Beast.
Perfect! So, I had their costumes made thinking they'd love that idea since they wouldn't look like all the other princesses we were sure to see Halloween night. My mistake!!!!!! The costumes came and tho they thought they were pretty they just "didn't look like princess costumes." Not shiny enough or sparkly enough or not enough polyester, I guess. So off to the store we went looking for "real princess costumes". And this is what they choose... "Ballerina Sleeping Beauty and Ballerina Belle"

Then came Lucas. Originally I was going to have Lucas be Prince Charming but once again at the very last minute (the week before to be exact) the girls thought he should be an "evil monster." Why? Well, there's a bad dragon in Sleeping Beauty and The Beast of course from Beauty and The Beast. So rather than wearing his Prince Charming outfit, he wore his Rex costume from last year. Now everyone, even mommy, was happy!

So my eager Princesses and Monster gobbled down some dinner and started Trick or Treating! The Zimmerman's and their "Round Up Gang" Ansley as Jessie and Landon as Woody joined us. As well as Princess Clara and Ballerina Rachel two friends from our neighborhood. After an early start and plenty of candy, we were surprisingly still in bed by 8:30. Not so bad, only one hour past their bedtime. I was actually thinking we'd be out longer but when Sophia & Alexandra said their "legs were starting not to work," we took that as a hint and came home before anyone had a Halloween meltdown.
So after six costumes and too much candy to count I can officially say this years Halloween was a huge success! So much so, they're already starting to think about next year : )
