Tanglewood Farms

I took Sophia to Tanglewood Farm, a local Wild West town of miniature farm animals.  I'm sure you can imagine how much fun my little animal lover had.  She especially enjoyed feedi
ng the goats and baby alpaca. She also got to ride on a pony and go for walk looking for buffalo and cows.  All in all it was  great outing!

1st Trick or Treat

Halloween was a blast!  I wasn't sure how Sophia would react to all the Halloween commotion and costumes but our little bumble bee had so much fun!                                                                                                                                                      Since this was our first time, we followed the experienced families in the neighborhood.  They lead us first to all the neighbors homes and then we walked down the street to two other neighborhoods.  I honestly don't know where all the kid's got their energy, I was exhausted!                Anyway,  at first, Sophia simply followed the "big" kids as they walked up to the doors and yelled trick or treat.  But it only took a few houses before she got the hang of it and quickly joined in.  As all the doors opened she would
politely greet the homeowner  with "hi" and wait for a quick response which then gave her the ok to yell , "trick or treat".  She then carefully picked out one piece of candy and look up to say "thank you, bye, bye".

We saw a few people with "scary" masks and worried they would frighten her but she just pointed and said "oh no, ouch, kiss", thinking they had gotten hurt.  We even stopped by a "spooky house" which she quickly reminded me of first thing Saturday morning.  In fact, every time she now sees her costume hanging in her closet she says "trick or treat" and "spooky house".  We really did have a great time and can't wait for next year!!!!

"Spook"tacular Week

Halloween week started off with a neighborhood party and Sophia's bumble bee debut.  As the week progressed she got the opportunity to wear her costume two more times before her first real Halloween experience.  First she dressed up at school and then at a halloween themed playdate.  I wish I could have taken more pictures of all the kiddos in their costumes, they were all so cute!  Unfortunately, my busy bee just wouldn't have it and besides, what am I thinking anyway, it was practically impossible to take these pictures of Sophia, how could I possibly get eight more little toddlers to sit still for a quick photo?

Blog Tag!?!?

I've been BLOG tagged!  I had never heard of this until I saw it on Paula's blog and then she tagged me.  Apparently it's a way for me to share five things about myself with all of you.  I guess it's actually a good idea since most (ok, all) of my blogging is about Sophia.
So here goes ...

1.  I'm a closet "Reality TV" junkie.  I really like the ones on Bravo but I must say I find myself watching any reality show over a sitcom.  I have a few I tivo and watch after Sophia goes down for bed and when Joe's out of town ... it's a marathon!

2.  I have self diagnosed OCD.  Ok to some of you this might not be such a shock but I can't stand a mess.  I find myself constantly picking up and organizing.  It really bothers me when things are out of order or not in it's place.  I must say I've gotten a lot better since I've had Sophia even though on occasion I do catch myself cleaning up after her as she's still playing.

3. Leftovers gross me out!  I'll take things home to give to Duke but you won't ever see me eat them.  Something about the smell and look of cold and then reheated food just makes my stomach turn.  I know, everyone tells me some things taste better the second time around but I just can't do it.  Yuck!

4.  I LOVE dessert!  I must have something sweet after every meal.  Sometimes I'm too stuffed to get anything at a restaurant but that just means I'll have it when I get home.  I also have a bowl of ice cream every night before bed ... even when I'm not pregnant!

5.  I can't wait for the day I can have sushi again.  It's been about 3 years and I probably have one more to go since I'll be nursing for the next 12 months.  But as soon as I'm able, I'm heading to Hashiguchi for the best sushi in Atlanta.

Hope, Monica, & Kathryn .... TAG, your it!

Fall Festivals

This weekend was full of fun and fall festivals!  First we went to Sophia's school Fall Festival.  The highlight of the morning was riding the ponies and playing in the duck pond.  Unfortunately, I rushed out of the house without my camera but I'm sure you can imagine what a thrill it was to ride a real pony!  Later that afternoon, Hope called to see if we wanted to join the Witters family at their church's Family Fun Day.  Pearce and Sophia couldn't get enough of each other.  They had a great time running around, eating popcorn, and riding the merry-go-round!  Thanks for inviting us!

Family Picnic

We went to a neighborhood family picnic were Sophia had tons of KFC and plenty of "coooookies".   After dinner she enjoyed playing with all the kids and couldn't get enough of this pink "car".  Maybe santa could bring her one for Christmas?!?!?

Pumpkin Hunting

We took Sophia to the local pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin.  As soon as we pulled up she started "pumpkin, pumpkin" over and over again.  She was fascinated by the bumpy ones and kept saying "oh no" to those that we're not perfectly round or dirty, as though she felt sorry for them.
After searching up and down each isle she finally stumbled onto a few small ones.  She was so excited she could finally pick them up!  Once she found her perfect pint size pumpkin there was no letting it go!
